I read and evaluate all the scripts myself, and as a writer you will get clear, honest, constructive and prompt feedback on your script. So it’s important to you, the writer, to know something about me and what I can offer you.
I am Philip Shelley, a highly experienced script-editor and producer. In order for you to entrust me with your script and to believe that you are getting valuable and realistic feedback that will dramatically improve your script and its chances of getting noticed and made, it’s important for you to know something about my work and experience in the industry.
Working with a good script editor \ consultant is a vital part of the writing process and you need to be working with the best, to give your script the best chance of success.
Over the last 20 years I have worked with a huge number of screen-writers, including some of the most successful writers in the UK and I am still actively working in the industry, keeping abreast of current writing and market trends.
I not only have vast experience of working with writers, both in development and in production, I have also built a reputation as a highly successful course-leader and pioneer of new writing.
For 5 years I ran the Carlton New Writers course, nurturing new screen-writers. I also ran two BBC TV Training courses for trainee script-editors.
Currently I run the very well-reputed annual CHANNEL 4 SCREENWRITING COURSE, and in 2015 alone I have run script-editing courses around the UK for Grand Scheme Media / Creative Skillset; regular script-editing courses for the INDIE TRAINING FUND; a screenwriting course for young Arab film-makers in Abu Dhabi; script development courses in Dublin for Screen Training Ireland and new Irish soap, RED ROCK; a GUARDIAN MASTERCLASS in screenwriting and script-editing; and I am one of 10 masters of the teaching of dramatic writing on the new Central St Martins / Drama Centre MA in Dramatic Writing.
