Script Consultant – Autumn Highlights 2012

Hi There,

Finally back from a very enjoyable summer break in sunny Suffolk and visits to the Olympics and Paralympics either side of that, the batteries are feeling well and truly recharged for the onslaught of scripts that has already begun!

In fact I’ve already read several very interesting projects since I’ve been back at my desk.

Here are a few things I’m looking forward to doing in the next few months –

Sept 22-23 The Authoritative Guide To Writing And Selling A Great Screenplay.

The latest of the weekend screenwriting courses that I run with screenwriter Phil Gladwin, this time in central London. The bookings are mounting up and it looks like this may be a sellout – so if you’re interested, I suggest you book up ASAP.

Special Guest for this course is top London literary agent MATTHEW BATES. Matthew works at Sayle Screen and will be giving invaluable advice on what you need to do to get yourself with the literary agent who’s right for you, what you should expect from a literary agent, an overview of the UK marketplace for screenwriters at the moment, and much, much more.

As a taster, PHIL GLADWIN is currently hosting a ‘live’ q. & a. session with Matthew on his www.screenwritinggoldmine.com website.

Here’s the link –

And here’s a link to all the information you need, how to book your place – and a lot of very positive (and informative) testimonials – about our Sept 22-23 course –

Oct 26-28 the London Screenwriters Festival

I’ll be running a session on ‘creativity – generating ideas’ and running a Lab for 6 selected writers on Creating Drama Series at this year’s LSF. If you want to apply to be part of the Lab, keep looking at the LSF website –

Information about this Lab and how to apply should be on their website in the next couple of weeks.

If you are coming along to this year’s LSF, please come and say hello. And if I’ve read your script and you’d like to have a chat with me about it over the weekend, please drop me an email in advance so I’m prepared! It’s always nice being able to put a face to the script.

Channel 4 Screenwriting 2013

For the 3rd year I will be running the Channel 4 screenwriting course for 2013. This is a 6 month course running from January to June, for 12 writers new to TV to develop a one hour script at Channel 4. I will be giving more information about how to enter on my website and on the 4talent website in the next few weeks. Here’s something about the course from the 4talent website –

After my summer break, I’ll be resuming my weekly blog \ newsletter every Friday from now on.

If you’ve got something to say about screenwriting and would like to contribute, please get in touch! –

In the meantime, have a great week. And make the most of the summer and the Paralympics – you’ll be sorry when they’ve gone!

Happy Writing

All the best

Phil
